Theatre & Stage Lighting

Good lighting can make all the difference to a successful, sell out performance. From the design, installation, handover, maintenance and ease of use, there are myriad factors which need to be considered when thinking about installing a new or upgrading an existing house lighting solution. From national-level Theatre and performance spaces, to smaller drama studios and local theatres, the design, specification, installation and handover of any solution needs to be planned and appropriately consulted on for maximum effectiveness of a purchased system.

Lighting is a factor which can enhance or detract from a performance just as much as sound, and therefore needs to be thought of as a critical and key component of any stage or Theatre design. Used to create moods and lightscapes, a well-designed lighting solution will be able to highlight key actors or presenters, whilst also engendering a specified mood or aura.

Laser, LED or traditional bulb are some of the decisions you will need to make with regards to specifying a lighting rig. The control of those lights is also an extremely important consideration – as with everything, if it is easy and intuitive to control you will generally see more use out of it.
