Objectives

Oulton Park wished to create a central location for all incoming media transmission (Sky, race cameras, local media etc.) from which to disseminate to two separate buildings. The Foggarty Moss Centre (FMC) was used to house the central location for incoming media and also housed 8 client reception rooms, which all needed a large format display to show content with the ability for each of the 8 screens showing content independent from the other 7.

Chequers Restaurant was the second building, which needed to also show content from the central media location, as well as being able to display local media inputs on up to 5 screens simultaneously.

Solution

A HDBase T matrix solution was employed at both sites to ensure total independent channel switching on each end display. Each display screen was able to independently show a choice of 4 inputs (local Blu-Ray, PC, Sky Feed and Auxiliary HDMI-in) which enabled each client reception room to have free choice of content displayed.

The client also wished to share a feed from the FMC to Chequers Restaurant, some 400 meters away. To facilitate this, DWM employed cutting edge technology to utilise an existing redundant fibre line between Chequers Restaurant and FMC . A HDMI fibre converter was used to ensure no loss of signal and to enable Chequers Restaurant to receive any video feed from FMC which was pushed out.

The HDBase T matrix’s were housed in ventilated cabs which also housed HDMI Audio De-embedders to ensure the audio signal from any chosen video source was able to be heard from a separate or master sound system, if required.
