Objectives

As part of a total redevelopment of all 6 Motor Sport Vision sites. Recently acquired Donington Park was to have a totally new restaurant building, themed as a racing track which would wow and entertain the tens of thousands of visitors the track gets every year.

Digital Signage and board pricing were key drivers specifically in installing an easily managed solution. The screens themselves had to be sleek and modern to compliment the newly designed and built restaurant area, and due to the ceiling fabric and HVAC design, specialist bespoke mounts would have to be designed to accommodate.

Newly acquired offices on site also needed to be overhauled with cutting edge Audio Visual technology to keep in unison with the rest of MSV’s sites.

Solution

In the Garage 39 restaurant, which is designed to replicate the racing track, twelve 55” LV340C Commercial Lite displays are installed in a back-to-back formation and hung from a custom ceiling bracket designed by DWM. The displays are used to screen entertainment from Sky Sports, menu board pricing and wayfinding, which can be controlled via the SOC.

LG’s Web OS feature, an inbuilt Linux-based SOC (System on Chip), provided DWM with the ability to host its selected digital signage platform, Signagelive, directly onto the screen itself with no need for additional hardware. This provided more flexibility in the placement of screens, as allowances did not have to be made for an additional piece of external connected hardware.

Mounts were specially designed and made to hang dual screens back-to-back, which gave greater visibility of the screen itself whilst reducing to the minimum space required.

All Screens were fed from a central distribution source, which allowed a variety of content to be disseminated to each screen in groups, individually or en-masse.
