Trainee Infrastructure Engineer

Your role as Trainee Infrastructure Engineer will be to support your site team to ensure that projects run smoothly and meet the required standards in a timely and competent manner. Dimensions of the role

– To carry out a range of infrastructure works in a variety of environments within a team
– To install a variety of structured cabling solutions including; Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Fibre Optic
– Testing and termination using DSX and/or DTX
– Containment installation including trunking, conduit, tray and basket work
– To become conversant with all aspects of infrastructure installation works; and achieve and maintain any necessary qualifications

Description of role

– Assist in all aspects of infrastructure works under supervision, including installation, testing, termination, cutting & splicing, fault finding and maintenance
– Carry out associated multi-trade duties
– Become familiar with commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures

To carry out and manage reactive and planned structured cabling works to all internal and external clients, in various sectors including commercial, domestic and education. – Fault Finding, testing and termination using DSX and/or DTX
– Fibre cutting and splicing; including pig tails, hot and cold cure termination, fluke testing
– Containment installation including trunking, conduit, tray and basket work
– Liaising with Project Managers to ensure successful completion of works
– Professional and effective communication with management, colleagues and customers
