Senior Infrastructure Engineer

To carry out and manage reactive and planned structured cabling works to all internal and external clients, in various sectors including commercial, domestic and education. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing these services in an effective and efficient manner; and within established time limits. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both data and fibre installation works and be looking for the opportunity to develop their career into a more senior position, or be a Senior Engineer with proven management experience who is seeking a new challenge in a forward thinking and dynamic company. This role allows the opportunity to demonstrate your existing skills and rewards fantastic career prospects.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

– Proven experience in structured cabling installations
– Self-Motivation, along with the ability to work as part of a team
– Strong Leadership Skills
– The ability to think laterally – finding an appropriate solution to fulfil an application
– The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload
– Competent to a high level of computer literacy
– The ability to work to the highest quality standards ensuring attention to detail at all times

– ECS/CSCS Card or equivalent

Desirable

– Experience in Fibre Optic Splicing, Termination and Testing
– NVQ or equivalent in Structure Cabling Installations

Dimensions of the role

– To install of a variety of structured cabling solutions including; Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Fibre Optic, Blown Fibre and Voice and panel patching
– Fault Finding, testing and termination using DSX and/or DTX
– Fibre cutting and splicing; including pig tails, hot and cold cure termination, fluke testing
– Containment installation including trunking, conduit, tray and basket work
– Liaising with Project Managers to ensure successful completion of works
– Professional and effective communication with management, colleagues and customers
– Working in various environments (internal/external/working at heights)

Description of role

– Installation of commercial, domestic and education requirements
– Repairs, Servicing and Maintenance
– Leading a team of Engineers and liaising with Project Managers to ensure successful completion of works
– Management of task allocation, time frames and workflow
– Carry out works to a high standard and in a competent manner, meeting customer satisfaction
– Contribute to the achievement of project targets
– Provide the highest level of customer service
– To work together with the team to resolve technical issues
– Liaising with other internal departments, clients and contractors
– To utilise all equipment correctly and ensuring compliance with Regulations at all times
– Understand, interpret and update schematics and drawings/documentation
– Provide regular updates to the Project/Operations Manager on project development
– Forecasting and ordering of materials in liaison with the Project/Purchasing Manager
– Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including job packs and delivery notes and the maintaining of accurate records of the onsite installation
– Ensure photographic evidence of install is taken and downloaded on completion of jobs
– Ensure that any required qualifications for your position remain valid and to ensure that any necessary training is arranged and undertaken within the specified timescales
– To attend meetings, training sessions, health and awareness training and meetings i.e. ‘tool box talks’ and conferences as required
– To act at all times in accordance with the Company’s rules, policies and procedures including the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
– Responsibility for Company Equipment including; personal issue items, shared plant items, company vehicles and ‘hired in’ equipment
– To wear Company attire including; staff uniform and all appropriate PPE
– Other ad hoc duties as may be required appropriate to the post

Design Technician

As Design Technician, working in collaboration with the Operations and Sales Teams, you will play a vital part in contributing towards the smooth functioning of projects; by providing accurate drawings and comprehensive project information, pre and post installation.

This is an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified AutoCAD Technician to put their qualifications into practice or for an experienced AutoCAD Technician seeking a new challenge in a fast paced and varied role.

You should possess strong administration and communication skills, along with the ability to priorities and multitask. An eye for detail and a passion for delivering quality are key elements for success in this role

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

– AutoCAD City & Guilds 2D & 3D (or equivalent)
