DWM’s Technology Day

DWM hosted their first ever Technology Day on Friday 24th November.

The day was held at the historic Cecil Higgins Museum in Bedford. The Cecil Higgins Art Museum opened its doors to the public on 25th July 1949 in the former Higgins family home.

This is the first time we have held a primary and lower school specific event, and we wanted to ensure content was relevant, topical and relatable for these clients.

Our strategic vendors were present, in the Sir William Harpur room, to enable ‘hands-on’ time with new and emerging technologies, such as Clevertouch, Avantis and Inventry. There was also innovative, multipurpose classroom and creative space furniture on show from Top Tec, and Hall / Performance space mock ups were also on show.

Seminars were held in the Castle room downstairs, and covered topical subjects such as GDPR and how DWM can hand hold supported partners on the road to compliancy, along with assistance with DPO apportionment. The afternoon sessions centred on using mobile devices in education, how to measure their effectiveness and a review of emerging trends in education.

All the DWM staff greatly appreciated that the clients were able to take time out from their busy schedules to support us, and hopefully left feeling informed, guided and positive. Looking at the feedback we have received it seems that this would be the case!

“Thank you so much to all of the team, especially Jonathan for arranging Friday’s Technology Day. I found it extremely interesting and will be getting in touch about how to look at arranging to get the furniture people in asap to look at our staff room.”

“Excellent! I arrived feeling anxious and left feeling informed and confident!”

“A nice venue, well organised and enthusiastic delegates!”

“It was clear to see that the day had been arranged for the needs of the group and I thought that the intimacy of the sessions and the venue itself were all perfect.”

We are looking to make this an annual event, and all completed feedback forms will be used to tailor next year’s event to make it even better and more effective in exposing our supported clients to the latest technology and topical talks surrounding the use of technology in education.
